This is a very complete amino acid supplement, and I’ve always trusted twin labs products.
I started taking these to help me gain weight with my workout program. I had great gains a couple years ago while using twin labs Amino Fuel 1000 and 100% Whey Protein as my only supplements (5 workouts per week + 3 cardio sessions per week). After losing all that weight (due to laziness), I then tried a similar workout program (6 workouts per week, very little cardio) while supplementing with Myoplex Originals (Whey, Milk, and Soy protein) and Creatine Monohydrate, but no amino acids. Without the amino acids, I just couldn’t seem to gain much weight.
So after dropping that program for about a month, I’ve resumed with an easier schedule (2 extensive workouts per week, with much shorter daily workouts). This time, I’m supplementing with Twinlab Amino Fuel 2000, Myoplex Originals 42g (for the 2 extensive workouts), and Myoplex Lites 20g (for the smaller daily workouts), N02 Black, and NO creatine. I’m taking the Amino Fuel once in the morning, once with my last meal at night, and once after each workout.
So far, in the course of 1 1/2 months, I’ve gained about 10-11 lbs. I’m looking much more trim, and cut, and I couldn’t ask for quicker muscular development.
Amino acids seem to be a very important part in being able to make real gains for me. I have a lot of trouble gaining, and even maintaining weight. My metabolism requires about 4000 calories per day just to maintain my weight @ 135 lbs.
I like this particular supplement because it supplies 40 calories and 8 grams of protein per serving. That’s an extra 120 calories in my diet every day, without having to eat until I feel like I’m going to explode. And 8 grams of protein is a lot of fuel to help rebuild muscle when you need it most. For me, it’s great to be able to eat until exhaustion, and then add these to it.
Yes, the pills are ENORMOUS! I will not dispute that! I can swallow them fine, but if they were any bigger, they would really be a problem. That said, it really doesn’t bother me. Try taking them with something thick (like a protein shake, or chocolate milk). They seem to go down much easier. Taking them with water is a nightmare!
If you can bear the huge pills, give this stuff a try!

I’ve always had problem with gaining weight – even with intense workout and rich diet. This product worked miraculously. I combined it with semi-intense workout and had visible results within a month.

The size of this tablet is more than twice that of a centrum multivitamin. I have never had trouble swallowing pills before but I nearly choked to death trying to swallow one of these. Stick with the 1000mg ones or get the liquid like I did.

Sorry but after reading the first review, I have to rant.. we all know that diet and exercise takes a *lot* of sacrifices – and those that think different.. Please leave now and go look at yourself naked in the mirror, bet a bottle of Amino Fuel you know you could do better.
No question that these pills are big and you have to take 3-4 pills w/ ever meal! but I would argue that they are no bigger than the fish oil pills I take. Basically take two, a bit of water, wait then swallow.. if you are trying to build mass, and can commit to the workouts, eating the right foods and taking these pills 3-5 times a day. This products is for you. You will see results in two weeks.

Twinlab manufactures excellent health/bodybuilding supplements but these aminos are just WAY too large to be considered safe. I would not recommend these horse-pills to anyone. I do take Twinlab amino acid tablets but only the “Amino 1000″ variety since they are much smaller than the “Amino 2000″ variety. Ralph Nader could write a book about these pills. WARNING: SEVERE CHOKING HAZARD!!!
