Cut out the junk

In today’s modern society there has been a drastic increase in the number of overweight and obese people. Keeping in shape if often put second to eating out, take-away foods, socialising, drinking, and working longer hours.  Many of us don’t have to perform physical jobs and spend much of the day sat behind a desk.  So how do you make time for a Bodybuilding and Fitness lifestyle?

Life has become soft and easy compared to the past.

While technology and general improvements in society makes life easier, it doesn’t make life healthier.  In order to increase our fitness we all need to allocate a small amount of time into an already packed and stressful day.  Many of us make excuses that we don’t have enough time to go to the gym, or even going for a half an hour jog around the block. People who do this are just fooling themselves.

There are 168 hours in a week so you can spare 4 to 6 hours.

Bodybuilding and fitness needs to become a priority. It needs to be part of your weekly and daily routine. For example, if you allocated just 1 hour a day to 4 days of the week to do your bodybuilding fitness routine, you would see a significant improvement in your overall fitness in only a couple of months. You would still have another 164 hours left in the week to do as you please!

Begin by either exercising at home or joining a local gym.  Don’t delay and make excuses for yourself, even if you are short of money you could still buy a cheap set of 2nd hand weights and a bench from somewhere like eBay. There are even some good routines you can do without weights.

Allocate specific days and times for your new workout schedule and stick to it. If you miss a workout, don’t worry, just carry on where you left off on your next training day. I personally enjoy training straight after I finish a hard day’s work. There is nothing better for relieving stress than a good workout.

After a few weeks of a bodybuilding and fitness routine, you will start to change your outlook on life. Your body and mind will feel energised and a positive attitude will become the normal.  This will happen much sooner than you think, especially if you also improve your diet and cut out the junk.

If you get stuck or just need some motivational advice, speak to a trainer at your fitness center who’ll be more than happy to help you out.  If you workout at home, ask like-minded people for advice on sites like one. Just put your pride down deep and ask for help.

There is a whole industry dedicated to good habits and better health.  When someone joins a gym or fitness center there is more available than just the weights and machines.  There are people there who are eager to help. There are also other customers who may be looking for friends and training partners.

Talk to others who have been successful in changing bad habits into good habits.  Find out what worked and what didn’t work.  Surround yourself with those who have also changed lifestyles.  Body building and fitness is not meant to be a secret recipe. One thing to remember is, everybody is different and will respond slower or faster to a new routine.

If people around you give you negative comments and try to make you feel bad about yourself then keep away from them. Sometimes when someone sets out to change and improve themselves, other people with low self esteem will tell them they are wasting your time. They simply do this to make themselves feel better because they’ll never have the motivation or will to do what you are doing.

The main thing is, get into a good routine so it becomes the normal. It is up to you to take the reins of good health, not someone else to make you change. It can be hard work and it does take time and effort, but good health and a lean muscular body is well making  time and effort for.

So, why not make today the day that you start your new bodybuilding and fitness lifestyle? A longer, healthier lifestyle with an improved body and mind will help you in many ways in your long term future and happiness.
